Balancing Your Energy Through Sound: An Equinox Sound Bath + Yoga Nidra with Richard Grace

Our entire human body down to our very DNA is crystalline in structure, causing it to respond and resonate with the extraordinary frequencies of quartz crystal. The specific harmonic energy that emanates from crystal singing bowls is determined not only by the bowl size and shape, but the combining of pure quartz with other elements including precious gems and minerals. Alchemical singing bowls are powerful sonic tools for transformation and healing.

First, Richard will give a talk on the properties and pitches of his bowls, and how they help to clear, balance and energize the chakras (energy centers) of the body. Next is a simple chakra clearing chant, designed to awaken and open the energy centers, followed by a Yoga Nidra meditation. In Yoga Nidra, we begin to sift through the layers of who we are, and reach a place of deep relaxation and healing. This practice is a guided meditation done lying down. Once we have finished the guided meditation, we will end with a Pure Sound Bath, where Richard will play 26 alchemical crystal singing bowls to help align, attune and heal the energy centers of the body. This is a gentle, heart-centered, peaceful practice designed to help you relax fully, relieve stress, and guide you, through words and sounds, to a transformative experience for body, mind and spirit!

Yin Yoga & Live Music & Gentle Assists

Slowly unravel and surrender to the nourishment of your breath and the quiet power that is Yin Yoga. Yin yoga allows you to explore the levels of depth that are connected to the inner workings of the body, mind, and breath. By allowing our bodies to linger in stillness, poses may be held anywhere from two to ten minutes, we begin to stimulate and target the deeper connective tissues in the body and activate our parasympathetic nervous system.

During our time together we will move in resonance with the breath and the live classical music that will fill the space. We will slowly shape shift in a way that provides the spaciousness for you to explore the deeper layers of self that linger beneath your surface.
Gentle assists and light touch with essential oils will accompany this experience (optional).

Expect to receive an introduction of the overview of yin yoga; it’s history, physical benefits, and why the breath plays an essential part for this practice. Following this, we will begin to move through the yin practice by the guidance of Shawnda Noone and live music by Rosemary Ponnekanti. You will leave this experience feeling spacious in your body, mind, and breath. Dress cozy, bring a mat, water, and a journal if this suits you and join us for an experience like no other.

Gentle Assists using essential oils will accompany this experience (consent cards are available prior to class).
